A Cabernet that brings the drama: deep cherry, leather, and truffle tones. Enjoy a glass by the fire or make it a perfect match for anything grilled, like filet mignon, braised lamb shank, or Portobello burgers.
Tasting Notes: This full-figured Cabernet opens with lifted aromatics of cherry liqueur, hazelnut, and cedar. The palate is rich and fruit-driven, delivering fleshy tannins and concentrated notes of cassis, licorice, and leather. A long, expressive finish reveals layers of dark cherry, chocolate truffle, and forest floor. A classic Alexander Valley profile with polish and depth than can cellar for up to 10 years.
Varietals: 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 1% Cabernet Franc & 1% Petit Verdot
About the Winery: At Mazzocco, everything starts in the vineyard. From loamy valley floors to rugged, high-elevation parcels, the winery draws from a patchwork of distinct sites across Sonoma County to craft small-lot, vineyard-designate wines. Under the guidance of winemaker Antoine Favero, whose background spans Champagne, coastal Peru, and UC Davis, Mazzocco has earned a reputation for powerful yet elegant wines, especially its acclaimed Zinfandels and structured Cabernet Sauvignons. Each bottling reflects the character of its site, the care in the cellar, and a commitment to quality that shines through in every glass.
