Bright, structured, and made to linger. This Côte de Nuits Villages Chardonnay reveals layers of citrus, hazelnut, and flinty minerality. Its fresh elegance enhanced by a creamy texture and subtle oak, and is perfect with seared scallops, creamy white sauces, or good company.
Tasting Notes: Pale gold in the glass, this expressive Chardonnay offers a vibrant nose of ripe citrus, toasted hazelnuts, and fresh orchard fruit. On the palate, a mineral-driven entry unfolds into rounded flavors of lemon curd, green apple, and subtle spice. Barrel fermentation in fine-grain, medium-toast oak contributes a creamy mouthfeel and soft vanilla finish, while gentle bâtonnage brings depth without heaviness. The result is a beautifully balanced white Burgundy—elegant, textured, and precise. Enjoy now with scallops in cream sauce, roasted chicken, or tangy goat cheese; or cellar up to 8 years for added complexity.
Varietals: 100% Chardonnay
About the Estate: Maison Saint Vivant is a special project from Antoine Gille, with very limited production. In 1851, it was written that the Gille family had already been present in Comblanchien since 1570. Antoine's grandfather built the estate that exists today. His parents dramatically expanded the vineyards, and now Antoine and his family have taken over. The Gille family philosophy is that winemaking is not a job, but a passion guided by tradition and innovation. The Gille family places a special reverence to their vineyards - No hazardous materials are used in cultivation and no products used in excess. Their goal is to preserve the myriad of yeasts on the berries, which guarantees the expression of the different climates through natural fermentation & little to no human intervention.
