If you think Pinot is always light and delicate, this one will politely disagree. Deep, dark, and packed with character, it’s Pinot with backbone.
Tasting Notes: Ruby in color, this full-bodied Pinot Noir shows deep intensity from first pour to final sip. The nose layers black currant, savory tobacco, and charred wood, while the palate unfolds with dark cherry, vanilla, and a hint of coconut. Sourced from Dijon clone 667 on the Wolf Hill estate vineyard, the wine’s smooth, rich mouthfeel is balanced by robust structure and remarkable length. Aged nearly 16 months in Demptos American oak, it’s a bold expression of Willamette Valley Pinot, produced in just 150 cases.
Varietals: 100% Pinot Noir
About the Estate: Oregonian Tom Huggins was inspired to create great regional wines, and purchased a 35-acre wheat field just west of Salem. With the help of a few friends and family, he created the winery’s first vintage in 1986. This is the winery that put the Eola-Hills AVA on the map.
