Domaine Jean Chartron Clos de la Pucelle Monopole 1er Cru 2023, Puligny-Montrachet — Burgundy, France

Held exclusively by the Chartron family since 1917, this historic monopole 1er Cru yields a Puligny-Montrachet of extraordinary pedigree, grace, and concentration. The 2023 vintage pairs vibrant energy with a velvety, luxurious profile, making it a prized centerpiece for fine wine collectors and long-term cellaring.

Classification: Premier Cru

Tasting Notes: The nose unfolds with delicate yellow blossoms, lemon thyme, and a distinct mineral lift. On the palate, a creamy, pastry-like texture offers lush layers of stone fruit and subtle spice, beautifully framed by a fine seam of mouthwatering acidity. The finish is remarkably long and harmonious, lingering with notes of ripe apricot and crushed limestone. Decant for 45 to 60 minutes prior to serving slightly cool to allow its full complexity to emerge. Pair this with butter-poached lobster, pan-seared sea scallops, or classic roast chicken in a rich cream sauce.

Varietals: 100% Chardonnay

About the Estate: Established in Puligny-Montrachet in 1859, Jean Chartron is an independent winemaker cultivating some of the most prestigious parcels in Burgundy. For five generations, the Chartron family has passed on traditions and know-how to express the soul of their exceptional terroirs, incorporating sustainable viticulture and organic farming methods to keep their land healthy. Today, Jean-Michel and Anne-Laure have the privilege of tending to the vineyards their family has accumulated across the village, premier crus, and grand crus parcels of the Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise regions.
