This is the wine you bring when you’re catching up with someone important — a quiet dinner, thoughtful conversation, and something decanted that says, “this matters.” It’s polished, focused, and lingers long after the last sip.
Tasting Notes: Aromas of black cherry, currant, and fresh flowers rise from the glass, accented by a whisper of hazelnut. The palate is medium-bodied and beautifully integrated, balancing ripe fruit with smooth, polished tannins. Focused and vivid through the finish, this wine reflects its Grand Cru pedigree with quiet confidence. A small addition of Carmenère brings added depth and aromatic nuance to the classic Merlot-led blend.
Varietals: 80% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Carmenere
Carmenere is an old variety native to the Bordeaux area that is no longer grown in significant quantities in the region. It contributes intense color to the blend, and adds aromatic complexity to the wine.
About the Estate: Château Trianon was named in honor of the luxurious Versailles Palace. In the 19th century, Trianon was a country retreat surrounded by meadows and vines. Until 1952, less than 10 acres of vines were used to make wine. This was subsequently increased to 6.5 hectares (16 acres). Legendary winemaker & ex-owner of Cheval Blanc Dominique Herbrard purchased the estate and has dedicated his efforts to maximizing it’s potential.
