Chateau Planeres, Chantail Vielles Vignes 2021, Cotes du Roussillon Villages

Château Planères Chantail Vieilles Vignes is produced from carefully selected parcels on plains and clayey-limestone slopes in the Côtes du Roussillon. A blend of Syrah, Grenache and old-vine Carignan, whole-grape fermented for Carignan and Syrah, this is Mediterranean viticulture done with care and precision.

Tasting Notes: Vivid dark red with violet glints. Strong aromas of ripe blackcurrant, fresh, concentrated, spicy and intense on the nose. Round and deliciously fruited on the palate with a generous sweet attack, no aggressive tannins and superb length. Excellent matter in the mouth. Pairs well with spicy dishes, poultry and pasta.

About the Estate: Château Planères is a family estate in the Côtes du Roussillon whose history is intertwined with the appellation itself. The Jaubert-Noury family has farmed here for generations: the first generation planted the century-old vines, the second delimited the terroir of Planères, the third created the AOC Côtes du Roussillon, and the fourth built the Cru des Aspres. Today the estate is one of the most respected in Roussillon for wines that combine Mediterranean richness with real finesse.
