Estate Overview: Château Montrose is a historic estate located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux. Established in 1815, it was classified as a Second Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The estate encompasses approximately 95 hectares of vineyards planted on gravelly soils with a clay subsoil, providing excellent drainage and contributing to the wine's structure and longevity. The vineyard is predominantly planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, along with Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. Since 2006, Château Montrose has been owned by Martin and Olivier Bouygues, who have invested significantly in modernizing the winemaking facilities and implementing sustainable viticulture practices. Today, Château Montrose is renowned for producing wines that reflect the power and complexity characteristic of the Saint-Estèphe terroir.
