Sharing vineyard borders with Petrus, Lafleur, and Lafleur-Pétrus, this Merlot-dominant Pomerol punches far above its weight. Intense, elegant, and built to age. Open it for a holiday roast, a special anniversary, or gift it to a wine lover that you want to impress.
Tasting Notes: This Pomerol opens with a light garnet core and a cherry-brick rim, signaling both youth and promise. The nose is fully aromatic, offering layers of cherry, red and black currant, raspberry, rose, bay leaf, wild thyme, leather, and a subtle mineral edge reminiscent of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. On the palate, it’s dry and silky with moderate acidity and tannins, showing intense flavors that echo the nose, with more pronounced berry notes and a clean, elegant structure. A wine that drinks beautifully in its youth, but will reward cellaring for years to come.
Varietals: 95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc
About the Estate: Chateau Lafleur Saint-Jean has a rich history in Pomerol, nestled between some of the most well-established names in Pomerol. The vineyard shares a plot of land with Petrus, and is bordered on its other sides by Lafleur, and Lafleur-Petrus.
