"La Chapelle" may nod to Roman-era roots, but this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is all about right-now appeal. With dark fruit, structure, and a velvety finish, it is a perfect pour for heart fare like beef stew, aged cheese, steak frites, or mushroom gratin.

Tasting Notes: This wine shows a deep, dark red-purple color with fine, intense aromas of dark fruit and subtle spice. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and well-balanced, with smooth tannins and a long, elegant finish. The blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon gives it both richness and structure, making it a versatile companion for red meats, cheeses, or roasted poultry.

Varietals: 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon

About the Estate: Chateau de Condat, Saint Emilion Grand Cru, belonged for a very long time to the King of England who distributed, in turn, the considerable revenues it produced to English lords or the Gascon lords that remained faithful to them. After stopping wine production for a while, the Janoueix family acquired the property and has worked hard to restore it, with a deep respect for nature, and has resumed producing these wines. “La Chapelle” refers to the ancient Church of the borough, which has remained since Roman times.
